Hi, my name is Marisa, I'm 38, single Mom of 3 kids (18,10,8), two dogs, and two cats. Just found this website. Had my first set of symptoms two years ago and was just dx for RMS today. Haven't started therapy yet. Would like some feedback from those who are on a therapy. I'm scared and don't know what to do.

Welcome Marisa. My name is Linda. I am also 38, divorced and have a 14 year old daughter, 1 cat and 1 dog - also have a very supportive boyfriend. I was diagnosed a little over a year ago and have been taking Avonex since March of 2004 along with LDN and some suppliments. I am looking forward to going on the new meds - Tysabri. If I were you I would try and get on this new med. From what I have been reading it is best to start Tysabri when you are newly diagnosed. Don't be scared. Once you get over the initial shock you will realize that you can and are strong enough to deal with this. I work full time and my worst symptoms right now are occassional dizziness and some tightness in my legs once in a while. Read up as much as you can, especially on this site...it's great and full of information!

Hi Linda, thanks for your reply. I also work full time. Unfortunately, my main symptom, which is starting to interfere with my daily routine, is fatigue. The fatigue is very annoying. I haven't found a feasible way to control it.

I get tightness in my left arm but have learned to work around it when it flares up.

I am checking with my insurance to see if they will cover the Tysabri -- hope it does. Trying to find out what LDN is and what other supplements I can take.

This is a great website and learning a lot exploring it.
