Well, I'm new to "ThisIsMS."

A little self-intro, eh?

I've spent the last 27 years trying to do the things I always wanted to expierience in this life. Sailing, Camping, and other outdoor activities have always been a part of my life. Most of the things I needed to do has been accomplished; Skydiving, Whitewater Rafting, gaze upon Denali, Rock Climbing, Rapelling, Traveled, living out of my Van across the Northern States, Canada and Alaska.

I can't say M.S. has been a bad experience. It has been the ultimate excuse to live this life to the Max. I just wish I had more energy, balance, coordination, and strength to go futher.

In my quest for health I have gone Vegetarian, tried Beta-Seron, Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) followed the MedPot trail across Canada and into California, played with the Bee Sting thing (Ouch!), am presently on Copaxone, and am now in line for Tysabri.

I do have to say, "It's been a Wild Ride!"

Hi, MSandaVan!

I gotta say, good for you!

I think that's what I did, also. I kept getting these bad prognosises (is that spelled right?) ever since I was a kid, and that always made me mad, and I'd say, Oh, Yeah? Well, you watch me go!

Well, I'm almost 50 now, and I'm still going.........and still as "feisty" (of course some may say "crazy") as ever! Yep........a "wild ride" is right! I can relate!

All the best and happy to meet you!

Deb

Hello and welcome!

I hope you'll share your experiences with your various medications, particularly the alternative ones, with the community as I'm sure they'd be anxious to here how they went for you.

Welcome again :)

Welcome to the board! :D

Hey, if you don't mind my asking, what happened when you took LDN? Do you remember what dose you were taking, 3mg or 4.5mg? I'm just curious because I started on LDN a couple of weeks ago, and am interested in everyones' experiences with it, good, bad, or indifferent.

This is just a suggestion, and I'll bet you've already tried it anyway, but ginseng might give you more energy. It helps me significantly, but I've found that the quality and source do matter; cheap ginseng doesn't always work.

But even with ginseng, there are some possible side effects and other considerations, such as problems for those on corticosteroids. Here's a link to some info if you're interested:

And again, welcome to the board; van, MS and all. :D

I used 3mg LDN for awhile (2mos?), had no effect. Kicked it op to 4.5, again, no effect.

Presently, I am on Copaxone. as well as a very serious Internal Cleansing Program found at http://www.hsu.com/index.shtml which includes Ginseng. I drink alot of Ginseng!

It took a long time to get here, It'll take a long time to get any thing back!

Terry
