Hi all,

I have been on Copaxone since October of this year, and have noticed a huge increase in my fatigue.....not sure how common this is, but it is very tough trying to keep up with my 2 little ones. I have been doing a lot of reading into LDN and am wondering how many of you take it along with Copaxone? From what I can tell LDN has helped many with fatigue and brain fog. Anyone noted any decrease in dizziness from LDN?

I only ask how many take this combination as I have not been on Copaxone long enough to see the effects it will have on my MS and am hesitant to give it up after such a short period, but NEED something to manage my fatigue and brain fog!!!! Any information would be appreciated!

I have been using Copaxone for 12 years now. I've never noticed any benefit symptom-wise from using it, but I tolerate it very well and so continue to use it as I think it's the smart thing to do.

I took 4.5mg LDN nightly for about 2 years, but stopped taking it before surgery at Stanford Sept 2009 (it can't be used in combination with narcotics), and I never restarted it (I haven't wanted to work through the increase in spasticity associated with using it).

The best thing I've found for brain-fog and fatigue is physical exercise, in whatever form.

But, I wanted to let you know I used Copaxone and LDN together without any problem.

Good luck.

Tracy,

thanks for the information :) Did you have any other problems/side effects aside from the increased spasticity?

Yes, about a month after starting LDN I developed a yeast infection that took several months to clear up (and I'm male). I don't eat dairy products, and up until that time didn't take acidophilus supplements, so my intestinal flora was pretty weak probably. Getting the yeast infection to clear up involved working with a doctor to get hold of a good probiotic supplement (which I still take 3 times daily). I've since read that candida or yeast infections aren't uncommon when taking LDN, so it is wise to take an acidophilus supplement as well.

even better to know! Thank you very much.......and might I ask how you've been doing since having CCSVI treatment?? It is something I am very curious about and am seriously considering, but am at a loss as far as a decision to wait it out until it is offered in Canada or travel abroad.........

Sure, I've posted conclusions from my one-year update here:

One Year CCSVI Update

In short, I've benefited from symptomatic improvement in certain areas, but not others, and still experience slow secondary progression.

Good luck with the LDN...

I have MS from 13 years. When it comes with fatigue - I'm taking Modafinil and everything is OK after 1-2 days. Typical dose is 250mg/day in the morning /don't take it after 12.00 - you can't sleep because of this.../. It is also very good if you are taking Copaxone and LDN togeather with Modafinil - no any problems.
