We need a new thread in treatments called "The Coimbra Protocol". Something was started in "natural approach" and this thread could be the start of The Coimbra Protocol. It is essentially high-dosing VitD but with care taken to determine correct dosing of D3 and monitoring of serum levels of calcium, phosphorus etc. We could invite Professor Coimbra to pay us a visit once a thread is active. He has been given high praise from all quarters. A Doctor I'm working with could also make an appearance.

Hi PN, what do you think about for now, moving this dedicated thread to Natural Approach and letting things build up a bit? with a bit more traffic perhaps we could change it to an 'announcement' style post that stays at the top of the page. for comparison, the CCSVI thread was just enormous before it got its own specific forum under treatments. what do you think?

i get it - hmm well for the time being i could set things up so that the Coimbra Protocol appears in General Discussion while actually being located in Natural Approach. what do you think of that for the short term? also you could consider setting up a poll to see what kind of support there might be from the rest of the membership, regarding coimbra protocol as a dedicated treatment forum.

I started yesterday at 40Kiu D. There is a plethora of info re: Coimbra protocol but it has to be translated into English. Thank You Google Translate.


My summary of one patient's experience as Dr. Coimbra's patient.

OZZIE mother's D experience from her blog (actual Coimbra patient)
40,000iu/day
* no bananas
* calcium - no dairy, soy
* no Voltaren or Ibruprofen
* 2.5 litres water per day (to eliminate calcium she says)
* Taking B12, B2 & Omega 3 DHA
She says that she's had MS 15 years but she doesn't seem that badly affected all things considered.
Over 2013. Her words: Dramatic improvement in strength/balance/coordination as observed by her neurologist. And no new lesions over 12 months.
Greatly improved incontinence. "90%" improvement in fatigue
Another MRI August 2014 no report as yet
Also . . .
Dr. C told her that children should take 1000iu per 5kg
Dr. C told another patient on 50Kiu/day who had a relapse on the protocol to increase to 100Kiu for 5 days. She improved.
After a relapse in 2010 Oz had drop foot and weakness in rt. Leg. Now completely resolved. She partially attributes improvement to Physio but mostly to the protocol.
She now says she considers herself 100% improved. 1-1/2 years on protocol.
