I am new to this forum and have posted a couple posts already to introduce myself and one in the Friends and Family section. But long story short, I am a 36 YOA son whose mom has had very progressive MS for 35-40 years. She still lives at home with my dad and she is now 74. Hi! I've just been diagnosed with MS in the past couple of months and am about to start on Avonex. I'll be 60 in April.
I had a bout with occipital neuralgia back in the early 1990s which they have now said was an MS relapse, although at that point no testing was done. It was a horrible two-year stretch during which the painkillers I was on had me almost walking into walls!

Hello everyone! I am going to assume I am "old enough" to be here, however, I am only 59 yrs. young. Anyway, I have not been officially diagnosed, but, current doc highly suspects MS. Any one else have pain in hip area, much like sciatic nerve problem? I have had a few times and thought it was sciatic pain, after today I wonder if it is related to central nervous system. Started middle of night and found I had problems standing, walking etc. Pain on right side back of hip and some in leg. Took ibuprofen three times through the day but found it was nearly gone by 5 ...

Hi to all. Looks like lots is happening re CCSVI. How does the Golden Years group feel about this procedure. I have been reading since the start and not sure. May ask about blockages when next to a neuro. in Nov. Will be a new one so will see how receptive he is re my problems with Central Nervous System disorder / possible MS. Been over 8 years now. Linda
