Post subject: BEGAN HSCT - 5/13/13
PostPosted: Sat May 18, 2013 9:37 am
Hello,

I am currently undergoing HSCT in Chicago. I had my first dose of chimo on Monday and was discharged to the local hotel afterwards. Today I started the neuropen shots and the antibiotics. My stem cells will be harvested on Thursday next week.

Here is the thing: My MS has flared up somewhat after the first dose of chimo - stiffer, numbness in hands and right foot. I am told that it's just because ...

I have decided to have HSCT procedure. I know it's still experimental but it has good results. I know I could wait sitting on my hands taking useless MS medications and wait miracle cure or I can do something now to help myself. I am hoping to have this done over the summer months and recover all fall and winter back home in Colorado.

Post subject: Which doctor? or which diagnosis would Beike or Wu require?
PostPosted: Sun Apr 21, 2013 8:57 am
Hi all. 8) Firstly, while i've read George's valid comments about CCSVI's controversiality, i'm still wondering whether Beike and/or Wu integrate these routines, or are they non-integrative:
(1) CCSVI (in least risky way - I.E. can they predetermine if i'm too reactive to same?
(2) myoablation (couldn't even find a layman definition of myoablation in any online MS glossary)
(3) any other cutting-edge modalities, such as the ...

Hi,

I thought someone here might be interested in this.

If the link doesn't come through, it is posted on the April 4 page at Multiple Sclerosis Research Blog. I would imagine it's also listed on clinical trials.gov.

Post subject: anyone on Beike's stem cell trial in China?
PostPosted: Mon Apr 01, 2013 2:00 pm
Hello - A few years back Beike biotech of China was offering all kinds of stem cell treatments for basically any disease - and promising great results. You know, typical stem cell hucksterism. But they've supposedly cleaned up their act, partnered with top hospitals in China, and are now working on more legitimate trials.

I just came across this trial in MS, using umbilical cord stem cells:

Major Advance in Understanding Risky but Effective Multiple Sclerosis Treatment

A new study by multiple sclerosis researchers at three Canadian centres addresses why bone marrow transplantation (BMT) has positive results in patients with particularly aggressive forms of MS. The transplantation treatment, which is performed as part of a clinical trial and carries potentially serious risks, virtually stops all new relapsing activity as observed upon clinical examination and brain MRI scans. The study reveals how the ...
