Has anyone tried acupuncture? I have my first appt next week and I'm so excited. Hopefully it will help with my symptoms....if nothing else I've heard it helps with stress.

 Hi missvicki, I went for acupuncture about 3 years ago because of cramp and pains in my legs and it worked, the pains dissappeared and has only left me with the memory of them which is great, as far as my MS is concerned it made little differance but just the pain going I thought was enough.. but hey it's worth a try go for it.
Andy

I tried acupuncture or electro-torture for about 6 months. My walking was usually rather worse afterwards and it did nothing for my pain or stress. It was nice hearing mandarin spoken though.

Well, I've had about 5 treatments now and it seems to be helping with leg pain, fatigue, and stress. I'll post in another month to let you know if we are progressing. Thanks.

It helps me, when I can afford to go. After 1.5 months, the doctor felt more accustomed to my imbalances and started expanding the treatment a bit. I need to skip tomorrow for an allopathic appt, but hope to return next week, or month.

I've had acupuncture done by a physical therapist/acupuncture practitioner at the local MS Society and it has done wonders for a sciatic type pain/ low back pain/pirisformis pain that flare up fom time to time.
I was skeptical at the outset but each time it has relieved the pain almost immediately.
With each treatment I'm finding that the intervals between when I experience pain are getting longer. So something here is definitely working for me.
I don't have electrical stimulation but rather my therapist does manual stimulation of the needles.
