If cytoxan has been used for so long...

Post by patientx »

Last night, I started reading Howard Weiner's book, "Curing MS". In it, he writes about using cyclophosphamide in the early 80's with mixed results. Also, doing a web search, I came across this

<shortened url>

Notice the date - 1983
So, if doctors have been using this so long for MS, what's different about the Hopkins treatment?

They dont go in detail about the cyclphosphamide regime they used but I guess that they used it not in that sharp doses as JHs HDC therapy.
Therefor the immunesystem was damped down for some time but was not eradicated like during the HDC course at JH.

So the former cyclophosphamide use seems do be more similar to the current mitoxantrone treatments.

You guys are right. When I went back and read some of the JH stories, I realized the difference.
