Just thought you should know, the links that go out with subscribed forum
emails do not work correctly because they redirect from thisisms.com to www.thisisms.com and the anchor at the end gets dropped. For example:

http://thisisms.com/modules.php?name=Fo ... 9933#59933

redirects to:

http://www.thisisms.com/modules.php?nam ... ic&p=59933

(and drops the #59933 at the end of the url)

Then you need to manually scroll down and figure out which message
is the new one.

I believe if you change the url of the site in the forum settings admin panel to be www.thisisms.com instead of thisisms.com it should fix this problem.

Hi Daniel,
Thank you for your detailed observations. I have tried to replicate the problem. If I click on the first link you provided,

http://thisisms.com/modules.php?name=Fo ... 9933#59933

using a Mozilla browser such as Firefox 3.0x or Mozilla 1.7.13 it takes me to the correct web page and displaying the specific post and does not drop the #59933 at the end of the URL.

However, if I use IE 7.0x and click on the above URL, it does drop the #59933 from the end but still takes me to the correct post.

In contrast, if I use either Firefox 3.0x, Mozilla 1.7.13 or IE 7.0x and click on the second URL, then the page behaves as you have described, it stays at the top of the thread.

What email program and browser are you using? In addition, are you clicking on the link from the email or are you copying and pasting it into the address bar of the browser?

NHE

I'm receiving the emails in gmail and am using Safari as my web browser. When I click the first link, I get redirected to the correct post but it stays at the top of the page.

I've resorted to cut-pasting the links and adding the www. to the beginning to have them load properly... but I suppose you're right it does seem like it's a browser-dependent issue.

Ideally, the emails should show:

http://www.thisisms.com/modules.php?nam ... 9933#59933

That way it would work properly in Safari as well

I have forwarded the problem to the ThisIsMS administrators. Hopefully, they will be able to correct the problem.
