Hi everyone,

An article in a local women's magazine led me to this link. Does anyone know anything about this treatment?

Hi everyone,

A bit of followup.

I got a reply from the website listed in the print version of this article (Woman's Day, published in Australia) and it seems that they're just peddling colostrum supplements.

Sorry about posting this at all. My BS radar started beeping very loudly when I realised what seemed to be going on. The colostrum products were only on sale from 21 August 2009, a couple of days before the magazine would have been published.

Their claims based on a sample size of 1 (good luck to her though), so personally it seems abit dubious.

Having said that, has anyone ever used colostrum to any effect?

Cheers

Maria

ps I've reported them to Media Watch, a show which outs dubious media practices.

I tried colostrum a number of years back. If anything, I personally noticed I was a little worse when I took a larger dose. So I stopped taking it at all.

what is colostrum? supplements, herbs? someone else wrote on the stem cell forum abt. their daughter taken some supplements from holland, and she is all better, but is that for real, or the company is on this side publishing for it.

better to consult with your neuro before taken anything, nothing is proven yet to help........

I got onto the website mentioned in the article and they are based in Germany. If you are eligible then you have to fly there and stay a couple of days..they then extract your own adult stem cells from your hip bone, test them for mobility and other things and reinject them via lumbar puncture. So you end up with concentrated adult stem cells in the correct area and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. A graph of results of 19 MS patients showed one was worse, 3 were significantly better with the others being 50/50 between a bit better and no difference. The cost of the treatment is 7,500 Euro which is very expensive when you add in the airfares and hotel etc.
I'm considering it but would like the opinion of others.

I know this was posted a while ago but ...

I did go to the seminar they held on this. Firstly they are promoting supplemnts -

Alpha Lipid Powder and
Colostem capsules

These apparently support healthy adult stem cell release - this is the precursor to stemcell transplant.

I was told to try these first and then consider the transplant.

The woman from Australia did not qualify for the transplant, due to cancer.

I met her and she was amazing!

She did have RRMS though so I am unsure.

I have to say I have only been on the products for short time but I have NOT noticed any great improvements yet, maybe they will come!

Carolew?? Anything new since you had the treatment? I go in two weeks time!! I asked them and they said that you can do nothing to help promote production of stem cells in preparation for the treatment.
