how to be taken seriously

This is the place to ask questions if you have symptoms that suggest MS, but aren't yet diagnosed.

how to be taken seriously

I am convinced I have some sort of neurological disorder but getting doctors to do something for me has been
like pulling teeth .

This is going on for 20 years now . I have tried alternative therapies but not much has worked although I haven't
really stuck to any treatment plan for very long though . Usually after awhile the therapy stops working or
makes me feel worse ... no pain no gain ?

A few years ago I barely convinced an MD to send me for an MRI but he refused to send me to neurologist .
I guess I look too normal in my outward appearance but I feel awful .

The MRI showed nothing . If the MRI shows nothing , is that conclusive evidence that it is not MS ?
I've had this so long ; should I be dead by now or much worse ? Maybe the therapies I've been doing
have prevented from getting worse , i don't know .

My symptoms : diminished sense of smell , a feeling of pressure in my head , music sounds like noise to me , fatigue although the fatigue has been
helped by alternative therapies , lack of concentration ( can't read a book end to end and I get no pleasure from doing so ) , anti-social . I've tried anti-depressants. They don't work . It is not depression !

How to get the doctors to do something ? Right now mostly I just need a diagnosis because I want to go back to work and
I have to have an answer as to why I haven't been working last few years .

hey there :) have you been referred to any nutrition specialists for evaluation? off the top of my head, diminished sense of smell says possible zinc deficit.. that's just the tip of the iceberg. if you have old nutrient bloodwork it might be worth taking a look..

You need to find a doctor that will work with you. Have your heard of the MDVIP program? If you can afford it, that would be the way to go.

Well , i have been to naturopaths . I don't know , haven't been impressed by them . They seem just as clueless as the MDs . I have been taking zinc in my Cal/Mag formula . Long time ago zinc was not agreeing with me ; made me feel worse . But now I tolerate it . I don't know if it is doing anything though .
