Hello All,
I'm shopping around for a new neuro in Canada.

I am seeking a doctor who is knowledgeable, can offer positivity, able to listen and acknowledge problems and is not a crab drug pusher.

I would like to see someone who is open to alternatives and is up to date on various treatments. I don't want a condescending attitude but will tolerate one if the above criteria are met.

Know any candidates who meet my want list?

:D

Located in Ont. I'm willing to go out of province to find a suitable doctor. If I don't have any luck in my own country I will then pursue international options.

I don't think my requirements are out of the ordinary but seem hard to find. I've already checked the 'rate a doctor' sites but most of the results are love/hate orientated.

According to the number of views to this post and lack of replies, maybe we are all in the same boat - discontented with our current neuros?

Off I go to do more searching....................

Hi there, I just read you post and I have an excellent neurologist in Red Deer Alberta, Dr. Jackyn Bakker right in the Red Deer Hospital. She is very good to talk with and listens to your concerns and doesn't push medicine what so ever. I have been one of her patients since 2005 and she has not put me on medication so far but has offered certain things for my symptoms at the time of check ups, which I have always declined. If it helps any, she has also held a teleconference on CCSVI and seems interested in all of that subject. I recently moved to Sask. and was able to view the conference and have now got a referral to a Saskatoon neuro, if for some reason I don't like this new one, I will definately travel back and forth to Red Deer.
