My experience with acupuncture led me to believe that it caused the greatest benefit by getting the body to relax, as one must learn to do when one has a dozen needles sticking into them :wink: This article may be adressing the molecular side of that relaxation.

I thought it just increased pain tolerance by getting the person accustomed to things piercing their flesh? It works anywhere on the body, works on mice etc.
