MS patients may prefer new therapies regardless of risk

MS patients are inclined to accept new therapies regardless of the potential risks, according to a survey conducted by Wayne State University in the period 2007-2009 (Caon et al AAN 2011; abstract P01.208).

A series of standardized questions were posed to 200 MS patients during a clinic visit. Patients were asked if they would consider switching to a new therapy. I think this has proven true the way people have traveled across country.
Paid cash to strangers to do an out patient surgery to their viens.
Never having met the surgeon, with no clinical trial and many people seeing no improvement. In fact many getting worse.
Many times a dr scams their insurance company.. by writing in a phony code.
Risking their insurance coverage on an unproven method. Knowing that patients who are doing the referrels are being paid to do so.
