A real motivating story, with contacts/ phone numbers!! It just proves that we all must be our own advocates in ms treatment options.
She and I were dx'd the same yr and are the same age.
Now I know that stem cell therapy is not simply a pipe dream.

This is great news! Thanks, Bromley!

It is great news - thanks Bromley. Especially good that she is getting better all the time.

How can they do this in Holland but not in the UK or US???

Jaded,

The Dutch have always been happy to push the boundaries - e.g. bars where smoking pot is allowed. I assume the clinics who administer the treatment are government approved. There are clinics which offer similar treatments in eastern Europe e.g. Urkraine but I suspect that they are not regulated or as regulated. The story of the lady from Liverpool is a sad indictment on the limited progress that has been made in MS treatments - in the UK if you are SP or PP you are told to go home and get on with it.

Yes, "my" neuro's exact words were "Go home, read what you can about your disease then wait for it to take its course." Well, I've never been one for doing what I was told if I thought it was wrong. :(
