Hello, 30yr old male diagnosed with MS last week... been in denial for the last 9yrs, finally come to terms with it. I'm thinking medication but the thought of substantial hair loss and impotence with treatment almost makes me want to take my chances with another attack, get a cane and walk with my limp.

I've also looked into stem cell research and have heard some amazing stories there.

Can anyone shine a little light on both of the subjects? Is there any medication out there that will let me loose my hair naturally (not synthetic/chemically) and keep my libido?

Has anyone had luck with stem cell treatment and what are the negative sides to it if I go for it?

Copaxone??? Not sure if it actually does anything though!

My hair was thinning and I found a product that has helped a lot. It's called Hair Factor. It's made by Twin Labs. Other products I've tried contains the main ingredient "biotin", but this one also has a few other vitamins in it.

I find I could get it cheaper online than in the stores.

I suggested it to my nephew who is going through a nasty divorce and after about four to six weeks he noticed some improvement. He's 31, and believe me, he checked it everyday.

Sorry to sound negative but I has had Stemcell (Germany) no benefits at all - very costly. I have primary progressive. As for the libido thing, you do not have that on your own - I am female. I have considered CSSVI thing but can not get anyone in NZ to do it. It all sucks really but keep your head up, who knows they may get their asses into gear and find something!

Stem cells are still a long way from being effective treatment in MS. I experienced some benefit after stem cells, but not sure it was worth all that money. I had the Israeli protocol.

As for the hair - I'm losing mine quite a bit these days, but I think that's just a function of age. I'm not on any meds, and mainly focus on diet and supplements, though it's certainly a challenge.

If you want a lot more info on stem cell stories check out MS World, there's a site dedicated to stem cells. Most of it is old and posters have been silent, though not sure why that is. I've spoken with many people who've had stems and a few have achieved modest benefit, though your success probably depends on many different factors, including your age, level of disability, the specific stem protocol.

Professor Richard Burt is probably the leader of the MS/Stem Cell movement in the U.S. Try googling him.
