Constant Eye Twitching?

I am in limbo land (have many MS- like symptoms but no diagnosis) and have had some annoying eye problems for the past 2 months where my left eye/eylelid have been twitching almost nonstop. Keep in mind this is the same eye that I get blurriness in.

I notice that it gets worse when I am hot or exercize, another reason I suspect that I have MS (doctors refuse to see any correlation). Last week I was running on a treadmill and my eye started to go haywire on me. Then when I finished I noticed that the vision in my left eye was the blurriest I have ever seen.... and it got a little better over the next day or so.

My question is, for those of you with MS... do you get the eye twitching? I've been told that it is not a sign of MS, but have heard some conflicting information that it is.

could be from low magnesium, j. also, combined with the blurred vision, you might want to consider zinc. what's your diet and supplement regimen like, IIMA?

I don't think it's related to nutrition but thanks.

Thanks. I make sure to eat a balanced diet with lots of nutrients and take multi vitamins.

JML. I have found magnesium quite helpful. As Jimmylegs suggests its worth trying and magnesium supplements are very cheap and there are no major risks with taking too much.

one of the symptoms that led to my diagnosis was an eye twitch that eventually, over the period of a couple weeks, to a spasm of half of my face. It got worse when I was hot or tired. an active lesion seen on my MRI was indeed in a location--according to my neurologist --that was likely the cause. I had no problems with blurry vision.

in later years, I would get an eyetwitch every so often especially when tired or stressed, but it's been a while now. I wonder if my occasional Mg supplementation that I take primarily to help with leg muscle cramping has helped...I have no idea, but a twitch is a spasm....

hi carolsue i am glad that you no longer have to deal with the twitching. what form and how much magnesium do you typically when you have leg cramping?

fyi all readers: the cutoff for serum magnesium should be 0.90 mmol/L but the normal range is typically given as 0.70-1.10 mmol/L

also fyi magnesium has about 100 different jobs to do in your body so if you're noticing one thing wrong, there are 99 or so other things that could be working in a suboptimal way. i found this interesting page today (poorly laid out using my browser but hopefully better for others)

hope that helps :)
