A few questions

Hello all,

I am a 50 year old male was diagnosed with essential tremor about 8 years ago. My complaint at the time was had tremors, occasional slurred speech. Did MRI and found nothing. Over the past years, I have many new or worsening symptoms such as numbness in the right side of my face and right arm, severe fatigue and nausea at times and many others. I mentioned these to my primary care physician and he referred me back to the neurologist who basically said it was probably depression. Lately I had to go to the ER because I woke up with my face numb, right hand numb and was very weak. Did all the same tests and found nothing. These symptoms are starting to disrupt my life and I just want to know what is going on. My sister in law has MS and had a normal MRI. They found hers by a spinal tap.

I am not the type to self diagnose myself, but even my sister in law suspects something.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thank you for the reply. My PC physician did all the blood tests recently. Thyroid normal range, not any red flags. Saw him for follow up after ER visit. He asked me if they did the MRI with contrast and I said no. His comment was that they should have because sometimes you can't see something on a regular MRI. He also ordered an EEG study. He feels since most of my symptoms seem to be right side, something is going on with the left side of my brain. I explained that sometimes it changes. I also told him about an excruciating pain around my ribcage which seemed odd. I guess we will see what happens.
