Regaining movement once lost

My father has MS and has for 31 years now. He has been in a wheelchair since I was about 10, 20 years now. He has been able to move his legs at all and until 5 years ago had some very slight movement in his left big toe. Has anyone ever heard of someone regaining movement of legs after 20 years of paralysis without treatment?

Yea, nothing different for him. Just started moving his legs last week. Actually has been bedridden for about 4 months after a surgery. Thanks for your reply.

I think 7 years......I am not entirely sure. She had true chemo and copaxone but kept progressing then changed her lifestyle.
