New to MS

So im pretty new to MS (just starting my medication) and have lots of questions I am wondering if you can answer or give me guidance.

A little history
im 26
190 lbs 5 10

Im a very active person, love sports and working out.

I love to lift weights and try to make my self stronger, but ever since I got MS I just have lost muscle and have gotten fat
I was taking supplements when I work out and want to start taking them again. I just want to make sure theses supplements are safe.
Protein shakes
multi vitamin (heard I need one with no iron)
fish oil
creatine

My Dr said I need to not work my self too hard. I normally am sweating and feel like im ready to die when im done but he said I need to just slow down and maybe do 2 20-30 mins workout sessions in place of my 1 hr session I normally do.

I also would like to go back on a diet. I used to do a diet called Keto but I heard on MS you need a low fat high fiber which was not what I was on before.

Any help is great! Thanks

Im less than a year since diagnosis. I think going to the gym has been the best thing for my body and my sanity hahaa

The one thing I can say about MS is "tune in" to what your body is telling you. If it says rest then rest. Your doc had perfect advice. I would say what does your body tell you? Do you need to change from a morning gym guy to a night gym guy (those are real technical terms).

After being diagnosed I switched to hard 30mins and drank a lot of water to keep from overheating.

Im a foodie so I cant give advice about supplements or diet plans. Nobody is taking my steak and taters away! I can say that I need to eat right. If I am rushing and dont eat well I feel a little shaky.

Welcome ffjosh. I was in a similar situation as yours - diagnosed over two years ago at 27, and I was also very active and loved working out - especially weights. I haven't heard any adverse reactions to those supplements, but I would definitely add Lipoic Acid and Vitamin D to your regimen. Also, good advice from the previous poster about listening to your body. I've had to stop the high intensity weight training, and have since switched to mostly swimming.
