Hi Everyone,

Here's an update, my MRI and EMG came back "totally normal" according to my neuro. However, my blood tests have been a little off....my platelet count has been low on my last 2 blood tests...135 on my first test, and 127 on my last test. My red and white blood cell count has been in normal range on both tests. My protein level was slightly elevated, but he said it was due to dehydration and nothing to be concerned about. He also said my blood sugar was a little elevated at 5.7, and that I should have a follow up test done...although he didn't seem to concerned considering it's just out of normal range. My GP says my kidneys and liver are functioning properly, and all my other tests are normal and negative. Has anyone here had similar issues with their blood work or had abnormal blood tests that you could share?

I was actually starting to feel a little better for about a week then the other day I started to feel dizzy and nauseous, and now I feel like I'm back to square one all over again. I'm scheduled to see a hematologist this Wednesday to see if I have a blood disorder.

It's been really difficult to stay positive these days...my wife is starting to stress out about this as well, and that's the last thing I want. I'm continuing to go to work and exercise, but most of time I just feel like I'm going thru the motions. I just hope for good days

What were your B12 results? There is increasingly evidence that "low normal range" can result in neurological symptoms. Take really good care of yourself right now as this stress of not knowing impacts on you physically.

I'm not sure my exact range of B12, they just said it was in normal range. I will call on Monday to find out. I'm taking all kinds of vitamins right now, magnesium, b12, b50 complex, D3, fish oil, vitamin c, zinc, and acidopholus. I'm exercising 5 days a week (although not as rigorous as I'm used too) which definitely seems to help with muscle weakness and brain fog.

The stress definitely makes things worse. I was feeling pretty good for almost a week, then I started to stress and it seemed to put me back into a flare up. The symptoms are rough, but at least I'm able to go to work and work out. Do you find that stress can trigger flare ups?

It's hard to for me to stay asleep as well...I will fall asleep fine, but then wake up in the middle of the night with my mind racing about how I'm going to feel the next day. I haven't gotten a goods night rest in a few months now. Do you recommend anything for staying asleep? Maybe melatonin?

Thanks for your help

Stress makes all of my symptoms worse and right now you are having to come to grips with a scary situation. Imagine how many people you know get diagnosed with diabetes and go "oh yeah I have diabetes" it can make you go blind, have limbs amputated and make you die early but is treated with nonchalence in our society. You are doing what you can with your exercise and supplements, diet is also very important, but so vital is finding your inner calm - it gets easier with time. Don't get too tired I find that makes things worse as much as stress does. Whatever is wrong your body needs as much help as possible and that is rest, nourishment and mental calm and clarity. When I was waiting on a diagnosis (which took months) I kept on reminding myself of this even though I was scared and feeling like crap.

There is a lot of medical contention regarding B12 with many saying that the normal bottom range is too low. I had one doctor look at my results and tell me that because they were just within normal that it wasn't an issue and then another doctor tell me they were unnacceptable. Great your MRI came back clear I'm really hoping that it turns out to be something simple and treatable. Best wishes.

Is it normal for MS symptoms to come and go during the day? Although not 100%, I have times during the day where I start to feel better then my symptoms come back. Is this common?

It has done with me, I had double vision with my first attack and the degree of it fluctuated wildly through the day. It was Christmas time for me too and it is hard time to experience sudden ill health. I found the most effective thing to do was rest, I had 2 weeks off work, I hope you have some time off?

I actually don't have a lot of time off. The business I work for is moving over the next week, and the employees are expected to help with the move. How long did your first symptoms last? I'm going on close to 3 months now of on and off symptoms. Today is starting off pretty bad....naseau, brain fog, and muscle weakness, weird visson out of my left eye
