My 2 cents-I don't think Anne Romney has any duty or responsibility to advocate or even discuss her MS if she so chooses. It is a private matter and she is not the candidate. I would not discuss my MS if I were her either. I don't do it now. It is simply a part of me (as it is of her). It feels like some commenters here think she has some sort of obligation because she is "one of us". I do not believe that is the case. If she does become first lady and chooses to make MS her focus (like other first ladies have done with their projects such as Barbara Bush and reading) then I would think that is wonderful. But she does not owe it to anyone to do so.

I am happy for her that she is feeling well whatever she attributes that to.

no, not in that quote, but my comment was just that...a comment.

i personally do not hide my MS whatsoever and as a matter of fact i promote it to make people aware. the more knowledge the better imo.

no, i did not say that. i am not a republican nor am a democrat. i listen and respect everyone's opinion. they are making some poor choices recently in trying to win a popularity contest because after all that is what our presidential race is all about.

i agree, she is not obligated to discuss her private matters. but, unfortunately in this country when you decide to run for public office your private life is no longer private which of course includes Anne in this case. just about every article i have read mentions her MS and the horses. it may help their cause to discuss it...maybe not. they certainly have a team of advisers telling them what topics to discuss and ones to steer clear of. MS may be one...who knows.

I'm in complete agreement with Loriyas!

It is easy to get "excited" when ms has an opportunity to be represented by such a public figure. But she's not the only one who can raise awareness, there are hundreds of thousands of people with ms, what are they doing to raise awareness? What are you doing to raise awareness? If that is what you want, then go get it; do something to make it happen, quit waiting for someone else to be your voice!

I think I'm going to try horseback riding considering I live in the horse capital of the world. Surely someone around here has a horse I could use. Contrary to popular belief - everyone in central Kentucky does NOT own a horse but I'll let everyone know when I figure out how to get to one.
