Hey guys, I don't qualify to get help from shared solutions to get copaxone so I'm trying to decide what other options I have in getting a cheaper treatment that's effective. I have Aetna insurance so they only cover 75% of the treatment a month. Due to the large cost of the treatment I still would have to pay a large chunk of the cost. My income is above their assistance benchmark so I would like to know if anyone knows what other treatments out there are cheaper and as effective as copaxone. I currently control my symptoms using a daily diet of trying to avoid inflammatory foods and taking vitamins and supplements. My main daily meal consists of a large salad. I need an effective treatment because my symptoms come and go determined on what I eat. Does anyone have any suggestions? :-?

Check the various diet threads out but as a general rule lots of fish and poultry, vegetables (especially leafy greens), fruit, nuts.

Supplements

Vit D - at least 4000iu
Omega 3 - at least 2 grams (6 grams fish oil)
Zinc (keep uric acid levels high)
Magnesium
b12
Vit C&E (anti oxidants)

minocycline. It doesn't come cheaper. and it certainly is safe! there are studies showing copaxone + minocycline are very effective in MS. There are studies showing just copaxone is effective in MS. There are NO studies with just minocycline because it's too darn cheap and no money for big pharma.

just sayin....why not give it a shot?

betcha your neuro never mentioned anything about minocycline.
