ANY ADVICE PLEASE

I woke this morning feeling really tired, more tired than I normally feel. I have a really heavy chest, like I have been slammed with something. I am just wondering if I should start a course of prednisone? I do have some available. I have primary progressive so we don't really have flare up as such, but I can normally predict when I am having a bit of a flare-up.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Jam,

If what you're feeling with your chest could be described like an elephant is crushing your chest (or similar), you could be experiencing the MS Hug which has many manifestations. Lidoderm patches might help; please read my posts here: http://www.thisisms.com/forum/general-d ... 19435.html

Best wishes.

Thanks for your response. I have had the hug so no what that feels like. I started the pred. and feeling somewhat better as small as it may be.
My walking is slightly better as is the balance.
The sleeping is the biggest issue now!

So glad you're starting to feel better. Regarding sleep, I used to be an insomniac with narcolepsy, a walking zombie. Tried everything natural under the sun, but nothing ever helped. Primary doc finally pleaded strong enough to get me to try a prescription sleep aid, Ambian, which I've been taking for a year, and I fall asleep fast, sleep through pain, and wake up after 7 - 8 hours of blissful sleep without feeling groggy in the morning; if all else fails, you might want to talk to your doc about Ambian. Hopefully, you'll find something to help--you've been given lots of good ideas to try on your other thread. Best of luck!
