Is here anyone who experienced cancer in addition to MS? I am wonder if the tests associated with one shot of radioactive iodine (two weeks at the hospital are a must) can be done while someone is on immunomodulatory drugs? Does anyone know if the administration of Copaxone should be interrupted for a while?

My cancers (1996 & 1998) came long before my MS and Copaxone, and I never had 'hot' iodine, but my neuro chose Copaxone because it is the only DMD that does not supress the immune system (and mine is 'compromised' by the cancer & chamo & rad). That fact alone is reassuring as regards combinations with other meds, but I doubt you will find any specific data on interactions between Copaxone and iodine.

I don't know if the docs will let you keep taking your Copaxone during your tests, but if it was me I would try to convince them...
