On Sunday my feet and stomach became numb. Not to a point where I could not walk but uncomfortable. On Monday my lower to middle back along with my upper thighs became numb and when I am on my feet, just walking around the house doing normal house things it started hurting walking. Now today I have been feeling lightheaded and my legs feel like they are getting tighter as I walk around the house. I have 2 little boys and a new puppy and my husband works late hours a few days out of the week and my luck Tuesdays are one of them so I do not have much of an option to rest and sit still. Does anyone have advice at all to help me or want to tell me half of this stuff is in my head?!

Have you been diagnosed with MS? Have you been to the doctor?

hey there angela, welcome to TiMS. try to take care of yourself, make an appt to see a doc. see what they can determine with an examination and some tests.

numbness can be caused by such a wide variety of things, i don't think we can necessarily help other than to say look after yourself the best you can, including staying hydrated, and see what the doc says. don't let anyone tell you it's in your head. even if they tell you it's 'stress' there should be action items you can work on.

one good way to convey the reality of your situation to the doc is to start keeping a log with frequent entries and take a copy of it to the doc with you. docs have so little time available per patient... you have what, 15 minutes to convey your 24/7 reality. with a written log, the volume of info is immediately visible by the length of the entries and/or number of pages. and besides, reading is much faster than you talking. also, you don't have to try to remember everything under pressure. and the info you have to share doesn't get derailed part way through, by the doc's questions or comments. it just stays there on paper.

you might want to think about some kind of format, such time of day, meal info, recent activities, and any symptoms including physical, mental and emotional state.

chin up!
