Is there any validity to the idea of avoiding yeast?

I've read in a couple of places that some of the MS diets eliminate yeast. What's the thinking behind this? My wife and I are brewers and beer aficionados, and eliminating yeast would be a sacrifice for us.
I found this article ( http://nutritioninstitute.com/?page_id=169 ), but the way the author talks about his case study makes me think he don't even understand the relapsing/remitting pattern in MS, and he's attributing it to yeast therapy.
