Symptoms

As the resident believer in the insulin-is-involved angle, I feel strong enough right now to endure the negative criticism that is bound to come, I think.

And so I will just throw this out--in some material I have on the state of excess insulin, symptoms are listed. These include: pounding heartbbeat; temperature--chills/sweating. Could these also be the heart palpitations and night sweats that you describe?

I realize that the same symptoms appear with more than one condition; this may be a prime example. These may be two entirely different, unrelated conditions!

I have been convinced that we cannot affect the insulin level directly--it is too delicate a balance. As I see it, the only way to bring down insulin levels is to bring down glucose levels. And that is through diet! I think this accounts for the improvement of some on the Swank diet; and Ivy Larson's MAJOR improvement recounted in the book, The Gold Coast Cure, by Andrew Larson, M.D. and wife Ivy Larson.

By the way, why is it that I cannot underline a book title by highlighting and clicking on the u-underlined symbol? Remember, I was not raised with computers and consider myself "technologically impaired!"

Unfortunately the underlining tool is not so smart-- you have to click once with the cursor before the desired text and then again afterwards. :)[/u]

I was diagnosed with Hashimotos Thyroiditis in May 2000 and then with MS in Jan 2003.
I asked the Neuro if there was a connection between the 2 and he said probably.
Lots of the symptoms seem very similar so it is difficult to know when my MS symptoms started as many of the same things can be caused by Hypothyroidism.
I don't think tingling is caued by low thyroid levels though, so I usually count the tingling in my legs that I first noticed in March 2000 as my first MS symptom.
