Hi,

I was just wondering if everybody here is aware of the research being done by Dr. Fry in Arizona?

I just found out about it myself.

It seems to cover a lot of things - ticks, CCSVI, doesn't like heat (like around the equator), diet (low fat), acts kind of like a virus

This may be the light at the end of the tunnel? CCSVI is actually caused by the protozoa kind of gumming up the blood. Having a CCSVI angioplasty temporarily "cleans up the swamp" and offers some relief for some people. But the protozoa just comes back.

It all kind of makes sense to me.

What about you?

...Just came across this idea so I am bringing this topic back from the dead as I think it deserves some discussion.

The idea of a complex protozoan [single-celled organisms that include amoebas and the malaria organism] in our blood that causes many of the issues seen in auto-immunity is interesting. The big concern I have is with this theory is that in thousands of blood samples analyzed why has no one seen this before? I guess its possible they were not looking for it but the well respected Dr. Fry says he has been looking at it in a microscope for over 20 years, and has been growing it in the lab for several of those years.

His lab has developed testing that can discriminate from those affected and not. His theory talks to why CCVSI is temporary relief, why diet is effective, why anti-biotics are effective, chemo, hyperthermia, and also the fact that the organism cannot tolerate hot climates so it is only seen in lattitudes away from the equator. It connects so many of the dots its tempting to believe.

Nothing has been published regarding this as he is a single lab without the funding. However, he did complete a 390 patient study. Ninety patients consisting of 30 with CFS, 30 with MS, and 30 with ALS, compared to 300 normal controls. This organism is seen profoundly in everybody with autoimmune disease. Again why has a large pharmaceutical company not picked up this research and ran with it for profit?

"...this (organism) is producing slugging and clogging up the small vasculature and capillaries leading into these, into the islet cells in the pancreas that produce insulin. The islet cells aren't dead. If you clean things up, if you restore flow, then you get endocrine function again, and you get insulin production again. And I think that is the phenomenon that we are seeing in these patients who go on an ultra low-fat diet."

I would not think the publishing is a cost in addition to following scientific processes and mathematical calcs on the data from his 390 patient study. I would think the magazine pays for the peer review on submission.
