I might have MS? (mri pics included!)

Hello all, I was hoping I could receive some support and guidance on some ms symptoms. Ever since I was about 13 I would walk out in the sun and get feelings of needles and pins all over my body (I use to tell my sister that i thought i was allergic to the sun lol!). I also was always dizzy, which led to me passing out and nearly breaking my jaw when i was 13. When I was 18 year old, I started receiving tremors in my fingers and toes.

The tremors continued, and now that I'm 22, I have had a collection of symptoms I just couldn't ignore. I went to a physician and told her that I was experiencing intense fatigue during the day, no matter how much sleep i got i would always be tired even by doing the simplest tasks. I had a problem swallowing, and I almost choked to death by swallowing a simple pill. I've had balance issues where I find myself almost falling over just by walking in a straight line, and I constantly lose my balance in my apartment. I'm walking much slower, and it feels like my feet are weighed down by concrete blocks when walking. I'm currently in school but I'm having SEVERE memory/cognitive problems and including confusion and speech problems. I have a very difficult time trying to find the right word all the time now, and my speech is becoming slurred. My hands and feet are constantly becoming numb and it feels like there's this horrible tingleness everywhere.

My doctor gave me a motor test by making me resist her pulling on my hands and pushing down on my arms, and I tried with all my strength but no matter how hard i tried she would overpower me. She thought I was joking it seemed because of how weak i was. Anyways, I thought i had parkinsons when entering the office but she said it might be MS, so i went to get an MRI today. I have the pictures, and im just confused whether what is a lesion or maybe a tumor. Thank you for reading and responding!

Edit: How do i attach photos?

Would it be possible to help me format my MRI pictures to jpg? I'm not sure which format theyre in, but it just says 'file' in the file type section of properties

The forum can display jpg, gif and png files. Each type has its own advantages and disadvantages. If you need an image editing program to convert the files, then there's a free program called The Gimp from http://www.gimp.org It has many of the same capabilities of commercial software such as Photoshop. Many MRI image viewing programs that come on the discs with the images have an export function. You can use this to export the file. Sometimes, they just support bmp files, but they might also support exporting jpg's. If you get bmp files, then you'll need to convert them to one of the forum's supported formats.

hi tresmantra, welcome to the forum

the first question that occurs to me when reading your intro is this: would you describe your diet as well rounded and healthy?

I wouldn't take anyone's advice on MRI reading here too seriously, a far as I'm aware there isn't anyone who is actually qualified to read them on this forum. You may as well go into a fishmongers and ask them! That's not to say that people on this board can't help you. From my own, albeit small, knowledge of how the brain works, if you have a range of different symptoms affecting totally different parts of the body, then it's unlikely to be a tumor, it's more likely to be multi-focal, like MS, where you can have lesions spread all over, effecting different physiological systems. You are the first person i have met who has one of my symptoms: tingling on skin in direct sunlight. I haven't been diagnosed with MS yet, as my symptoms are very mild, and I have not yet had a major flare-up.

Also, your symptoms would be very unusual for a brain tumor, it usually presents with two common symptoms: headaches and vomiting (mostly in the morning) amongst other things.

Of course it could be that you have nothing, stress can cause ms like symptoms, B12-deficiency can cause similar effects, Lupus, lyme disease, and many other things.

Also, if you have had your symptoms for 9 years, that would be a very slow growing tumor, it is likely that it would have presented with more significant symptoms by now like a seizure or something... I hope this helps

Zinc Deficiency in Human Health
http://www.extranet.elsevier.com/homepa ... Humans.pdf
"A critical role for zinc in the development of the central nervous system (CNS) is biologically plausible because (i) zinc-dependent enzymes are involved brain growth; (ii) zinc is involved in the production of neurotransmitters, (iii) zinc-dependent neurotransmitters are involved in brain memory function, (iv) zinc finger proteins play a role in the brain structure and neurotransmission, (v) high concentrations of zinc in the synaptic vesicles of the ‘‘zinc containing’’ neurons in the forebrain serve as a moderator of neuronal excitability. Clinical evidence for the impairment of the central nervous system (CNS) by zinc deficiency are two-fold: (a) CNS dysfunction is a prominent clinical feature in most cases of acrodermatitis enteropathica, a genetic defect associated with zinc deficiency syndrome, and (b) marked improvement in immune function is achieved with zinc therapy. The treatment of acrodermatitis enteropathica with zinc is rapidly attended by an increase in hedonic tone, alertness, motivation and responsiveness along with rapid decreases in nervousness, irritability and restlessness..."

So my MRI report came back and there were no lesions or abnormalities. My DR is referring me to a neurologist, but we are looking into two specific diseases that have my symptoms: Parkinson's and Huntington's disease. We found out today that I have specific muscle jerk reactions called myoclonus (along with the other tremor types). I wish the best of luck to all of you with your diagnosis and health.

do not ignore the possibility of tick borne diseases such as Lyme, bartonella and babesia. educate yourself about the lyme controversy and read Dr. Burrascano's guidelines. the treatment of autoimmune diseases such as the ones you listed are mostly immunosuppresive which may help initially but will make you worse over time. if you have one of the above or all of the infections above it will take multiple antibiotics to get better and not just a short course. never rule out Lyme disease it is spreading like wildfire!
