Tetnus injection?

My husband just started a new job and they want him to get a tetnus shot.
I know he shouldn't have the flu shot (his MD told him) but what about this one?
He works as a welder/pipefitter in a large factory so there is always the chance of getting hurt.
The plant doctor wasn't sure so he left it to my hisband to check out.

I don't know medically, but I have always had tetanus shots (I travel a lot) to keep up to date and have never had a noticeable problem afterwards.

He can always have the tetanus shot if he does get hurt, I think it has to be immediate. Remember, tetanus causes death, it's not something to be ignored.

Though I've not heard not to take the flu shot either. The only shot I've heard to avoid is yellow fever.

Here is a page regarding shots. It basically says tetanus shot is fine, as is injected flu vaccine but not the inhaled flu vaccine.

just had flu shot a couple weeks ago in Toronto. form said not to have it if you have "an active neurological disorder."

Was it a live virus one? That seems to be the distinction.

sorry i don't know the answer. it is the regular flu shot in canada which i thought was not live.

BTW - my wife who has MS did have a mild reaction to it but nothing bad.
