Hello everyone, I'm new here. I haven't been diagnosed with MS but I have an appt with my doc tomorrow to discuss being tested for it. Here's just a rundown of my history:
In 2010 I began have really bad dizzy spells. I would walk into walls when I thought I was walking straight and feel like I was falling down for good portions of the day, even when sitting. My doc said it was vertigo and gave me Antivert which made it worse. I went to a neurologist who did some tests and when nothing came back they said I have Meneire's disease. I was on medication but nothing really helped. Eventually the dizziness decreased but I've had minor spells since then.

For the past few weeks I've been having them again, really badly. It affects my driving, running and walking. I've also had tingling in my feet, almost like a vibration, and tingling in my shoulders on some days. I lose my balance sometimes when I'm standing still and I'm not dizzy. I trip on flat surfaces when I'm walking. I drop things on a regular basis... it almost seems like I can't control things in my hands. I don't have numbness or anything in my fingers but it seems like more and more I'm dropping keys or my hairbrush flies out of my hand for no reason. I have trouble forming sentences sometimes and the words come out slurred or I'm thinking of the right word and something else comes out, or my words are all mashed together.

I've looked up symptoms of MS and some of them fit what I have been going through. I'm in the military so my expectations for tomorrow are for my GP to find the lowest common reason for this happening, but I think (and my husband thinks) I really just need to ask for a referral to a neurologist instead of dealing with the military doctors. I'm actually getting worried and I don't usually worry about my health that much. I was just wondering if any of you could share you diagnosis experience and if you had any of the symptoms I've had. Thank you.

You need to get it diagnosed because so far it seems MS. Vertigo itself is related to MS. The general neurological examination is particularly important in MS. Reflex actions are affected upto a great extent.VRT is worth trying in such situations.

Yes, please get it diagnosed first. Dizzy spells are common sx of MS. Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy is the most popular non-drug treatment for vertigo in MS. It's so effective that patients don’t need medical interventions to overcome their dizziness after it. Your consultant will guide you in this regard. Hope you get well soon.
