Not sure if I am over reacting ...

I'm a female. Just turned 25 and have had reoccurring symptoms for the last 4 years that I think could possibly be signs of early MS. I've considered going to a doctor for these symptoms in the past but have always talked myself out of it, then they disappear, and I convinced myself they wouldn't come back :-(

Unfortunately, my left hand and arm have felt slightly numb and tingly and overall just like dead weight since last Tuesday. As I'm typing this I can really feel the difference in sensation between my left and right arm.

On probably two other separate occasions I've had numbness in the forearm that lasted over a week - although this is by far the worst it has ever been. On two other separate occasions I have had numb spots in my mouth that lasted for over a week, they were probably about the size of a nickel and it felt like the dentist had numbed me with Novocaine. Again, these symptoms have stretched back over the past four years.

I also have absolutely terrible vision. I'm a -7.75 in one eye and a -8.00 in the other, and I still have trouble seeing traffic signs until I'm practically past them when I'm driving. Every time I go to the eye doctor they prescribe me a stronger correction. I think I was a -2.00 when I was 18.

Anyways, these symptoms aren't debilitating by any means. But they are reoccurring, and it worries me. I just emailed my GP and explained everything to her (I've never told her about these symptoms) and asked if I should schedule an appointment. I honestly am worried that I will be laughed at and disregarded. The few people I have told in the past have always just acted like I was blowing it out of proportion.

If anyone has any advice I'd really appreciate it.
Thank You So Much

Welcome to ThisIsMS. I think it would be difficult for any of us to say if your symptoms are indicative of MS. They could be caused by any number of conditions. Since they are of concern to you, it's great that you're getting checked out by your GP. This is a good place to start. It will be helpful for you to write down any symptoms you have currently as well as your history. Also write down any questions you have so that they don't get missed during your appointment.
