@Jack - that pretty much sums it up! When it was mild, slow-release magnesium worked for me. Not so much since it has worsened.

Thanks for your comments - I still take magnesium because it prevents night/morning leg cramps. I take "magnesium citrate" at night because it also has a good laxative effect when taken a high dose.

I am also taking Zanaflex 4 mg three times a day. I find that a half a pill every 3 hrs seems to work however I do nap a lot and I must not take it if I am going out to shop.

It also reduces my high blood pressure. Since I am retired I must plan my outside activities around taking these meds.

I wish they had something better that was much less sedating.

@Jack. I use a slow-release magnesium by a company called 'Jigsaw'. I find it easier on the bowel and it allows you to take more if you need to.
