Dude, read about it. This has been a respite for my condition at such a young age, specifically it being oral tonic not a med like Avonex. Hope this is true and will be available soon in countries other than Iran, specially in India, where due to extremely low rate of this disease, no one cares about it.....

I wonder if anyone tried to get some more info from the Tabriz Medical Research University (who made this according to the article). As this info is actually coming from a news agency, not the university itself.

All this sounds too good to be true, but who knows... I imagine big pharma companies would be very unhappy should this really work.

Hopefully this is not just another magic "cure", but the lack of any official publications is strange if this such a breakthrough.

I understand it sounds weird, but could they have an email or facebook?.. :)

they said 65 out of 100 cases were cured but the more advanced were not. has anyone found any info. as to whether the advanced patients at least improved or was it just useless to them?

It appears to be a paper on this substance (published within the university only I think)
Association of Expanded Disability Status Scale and Cytokines after Intervention with Co-supplemented Hemp Seed, Evening Primrose Oils and Hot-natured Diet in Multiple Sclerosis Patients
which gives us an idea at last of whats in it.
A B S T R A C T
Introduction: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an inflammatory demyelinating disease of the central nervous system (CNS). Because of limited efficacy and adverse side effects, identifying novel therapeutic and protective agents is important. The aim of this study is to examine the correlations between expanded disability status scale (EDSS) and cytokines after intervention with co-supplemented hemp seed and evening primrose oils and hotnatured diet in patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS). Methods: We studied a group of 23 patients with clinically definite RRMS, with EDSS<6 who received co-supplemented hemp seed and evening primrose oils with advising hot-natured diet.

Clinically EDSS and immunological factors (plasma cytokines of IL-4, IFN-γ and IL-17) were assessed at baseline and after 6 months. Results: Mean follow-up was 180±2.9 days (N=23, 7 Male and 16 Females aged 25.0±7.5 years with disease duration 6.26±3.9 years). After 6 months, significant improvements in extended disability status score were found in the patients in agreement with decrease cytokines of IFN-γ and IL-17 and increase cytokines of IL-4. Clinical and immunological parameters showed improvement in the patients after the intervention. Conclusion: Our study shows that co-supplemented hemp seed and evening primrose oils with hot-natured diet can have beneficial effects in improving clinical symptoms in relapsing remitting MS patients and significant correlation was found between EDSS and immunological finding
They claim no conflict of interest, but I am not sure of "Mrs. Soheila Rezapour-Firouzi" relationship with the study.

"improving clinical symptoms" does not equal "cure" to me.

CureOrBust, thank you for such a research on the topic!

Very interesting to see if this will lead to at least any useful dietary advice (a dare not to say "cure"). Maybe the news were telling about some other "cure"?

Anyhow primrose oil and edible hemp seeds are avaliable in any healthy-food store and there is little harm if one tries to supplement it. But what is "hot-natured diet"?? Chilli and pepper everywhere? :)

Not specifically MS, but I do think parallels can be drawn.
I recently found some studies using Antioxidant therapy in autoimmune thyroid disease and the results were quite significant in regards to symptomatic expression of ailments even though thyroid hormone levels remained unchanged. This suggests the antioxidant depletion through the condition was a secondary effect of the primary disease state and supplementing improved symptoms markedly, this seems to be the case with many of the MS treatments that I have seen discussed here, whether they be vitamins, oils, herbs or drugs.
Although they do add significant value in supporting the body and improving quality of life, there are still underlying imbalances that need to be addressed, I tend to agree very much with JimmyLegs approach of correcting nutritional imbalances via supplementation and testing and in addition to that a total life review in identifying all the possible factors contributing negatively to ones health, which includes diet, lifestyle, sleep patterns, stress etc.
One needs to go the extra mile in this, it is irrelevant to compare to the general population and say they are doing so & so and they don't have MS therefore it's probably not an issue, don't kid yourself everyone has issues they're just expressed differently, so the goal IMO is to research for yourself and determine what you feel an ideal situation is and aim yourself in that direction, choose the healthiest diet & lifestyle and try to emulate it as best you can without causing undue stress, anyway that's the approach my partner has taken and is seeing positive results for her AI thyroid condition, as for the MS side there is a few people I know there, but they don't feel the inclination to go the extra mile and have just settled into their drug treatment regime and resigned themselves to gradual deterioration.

unless i missed something all the patients were rrms. so, for those of us with so called ppms it's the same ol same ol. even though the drugs that are out there for rrms haven't been anything to write home about. at least this is a lot less toxic approach.

hmmmh one of the oils used is hemp oil--"i'm shocked"-- ;)

thank you cureorbust.

A cure would be absolutely brilliant but any improvement would also be brilliant. Even the smallest improvements make a huge difference in my life. Unfortunately most of those improvements, for me, are short lived. In any event I live in hope - I was born an optimist not necessarily a realist. :-D

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say that I have decided to give the Iranian regime a try. I bought the pertaining oils from amazon.de as organic (in german Bio) product-quality and a month supply is about 40 EUR (about 50 USD).

I just got started and I want to be cautious, not to upset my gut/digestion with too much oil/fat.
Therefore, for the previous week I slowly increased the hemp-oil to now about 1.5 tbsp daily and I have not yet started with the Evening primrose oil at all. I take the hemp-oil twice a day together with roasted wholegrain bread and it tastes fine for me.
There are no side-effects so far, but also no therapeutic results worth mentioning.

I'll keep you posted...

Are you doing the "hot-natured" diet?

And don't forget how all the participants stopped smoking etc etc as described in the paper.

Actually I am not so sure what the "hot-natured-diet" exactly is about. I tried to find some reference on the internet but couldnt find good information.
I anyway do only smoke on rare occasions. So lets see what the exquisite oils can do for me... :)
