Anyone been told that their ON has permanently damaged their nerve as shown by photo of back of the eye?


Anyone managed to curb the onslaught of ON with any of the ms drugs?

Planning on trying amiloride but feel I need some suppression too. Currently taking copaxone.

Any advice appreciated x

No drugs for me, but a strong niacin flush from regular niacin (one that goes down to my toes) does greatly improve the vividness of colors and clarity (While the flush lasts = 20-30 minutes.) This tells me that the vision issues (until other damage has been done) are possibly soley from poor blood flow. If you want to do flushes, learn about them first. Some (other) people find them unpleasant.

Thanks Thx:) I used to do niacin flushes back in the day when I tried the Klenner protocol (before I had true ON) I might have another go at it as I still have 500mg B3/niacin sitting in my cupboard:)

Did you get vision (or other improvements) during the flush?

I'm just not sure if I did earlier on (I always was just sitting at my computer so I couldn't experience the walking improvement at least.)

@ Jimmy I never did the injectable liver extract I just did the b1 and b3. I'm wondering now if I had done the liver extract it might have helped??

I have heard that idebenone could possibly help in massive doses. But it's practically impossible to get these days. It didn't do anything for me because I think you have to get it in that window of time after the ON. I also notice the improvement with Niacin. I also see it with bromelain when taken on an empty stomach (which thins the blood by reducing fibrinogen. Again, a blood flow issue. That's why I've followed the swank diet for six years now. Less saturated fat means thinner blood. When I gave blood recently, the guy commented on how I must be a runner because my blood was so healthy. I don't run; I just eat light. I've also noticed differences in vision after alpha lipoic acid and magnesium. But I can't say anything for B1. Does an oral klenner regimen work?

oh I just did oral b-complex with extra b1, b2, b3, b5, b6, b9, b12, plus vit e, vit c, lecithin, and eggs. and a multi. it *trounced* my sensory ataxia.
