Researchers find possible link between sleep and MS

Sleep may play a key role in the production and repair of myelin, the protective covering of nerve cells that is attacked and damaged in people with multiple sclerosis, according to early research in mice carried out at the University of Wisconsin.

The research found that the rate of production of a type of brain cell called oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs) doubled in sleep relative to waking. Just when I am wondering if my recent 12-hour slumbers may be boosting my immune system and contributing to my disease progression.
If ms is truly n autoimmune disease, anyway.

I never had and still don't have any sleeping problem. Still my MS is progressing . . .

Lack of sleep is bad for anybody - and too much isn't healthy either
