Hey guys of This is MS. I do hope I don't get banned for this because I assure you my intentions are 100% honorable and I intend to explain myself thoroughly. Allow me to explain my reason for posting. I have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and I am reaching out to my Alma Mater for help in spreading the word about my GiveForward initiative. 50% of all proceeds will be going to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society North Florida Chapter. In addition there is a benefit concert I myself and heading the organization of which is (hopefully) going to be at the Lazura Hall at UNF.

Our goal is a minimum 100,000 dollars.

We have also been in search of corporate sponsors and local news coverage to help raise awareness of this horrible degenerative disease.

Thank you so much to everyone in advanced for you help, support, and donations. Please take a moment to visit this link, read my story, and if you can give what you're able to. All donations to GiveForward are tax detectable.

My Story.

As a young boy of 5, I was diagnosed with cancer of the trachea. When I reached the age of 15 I started experiencing strange symptoms. Acid reflux, OCD, depression, suicidal thoughts, stomach issues, which over the years got worse and worse. After about age 24 I had a major attack of servere anxiety and night terrors where I nearly contemplated suicide and I thought I was actually outside of my body and collapsing in side of my own throat. My hands were tingling. Rooms closed in, and things became very dark. i hallucinated and it became difficult for me to even speak.

After a few days my doctor ordered me on some prozac for anxiety and said I have OCD and generalized anxiety. A little while later that year I started experiencing new symptoms. GERD, IBS, waking seizures, trouble urinating and tingling in the feet as well as more disassociation. I asked the doctor to try something for irritable bowel syndrome and liver cirrhosis.

To my dismay, these were not my issues. Instead they took me off prozac and switched me to Paxil. In doing so, within literally days, I experienced the following all at once. Shaking, random itching (with no signs of rash), trouble walking, running into walls, trouble urinating, loss of bowel control, GERD, spasms, night terrors, coughs, numbness and tingling, blurred vision and blind spots, skin irritation, sometimes you see skin lesions, dry skin, dry scalp, mind brain dissociation, difficulty swallowing, hearing voices, obsessive compulsiveness, chronic fatigue, palinopsia, insomnia, waking seizures, pins and needles, trouble breathing, trouble swallowing, constipation, a tightness around the neck like a hug, mental confusion and disruption of general thought, slurred speech and difficulty reading.

It was at this point my doctor informed me that Prozac as it happens, is not only a treatment for depression and OCD, but also prevents inflammation of Multiple Sclerosis. And based on all of my history, she was able to confirm my diagnosis. I have more tests to complete to see just how bad my legions are.

In the mean time. I need to raise money so I can prepare to live my life ahead and also help further more scientific cutting edge research into Multiple Sclerosis. Every cent counts, so send anything you can, and don't forget to RSVP for the concert. Also anyone is welcome to sign up to play!

It seems like you expect to pocket ~ $50K. That sounds a bit steep. How about giving more to charity? The Myelin Repair Foundation is a good organization. There are others as well. http://www.myelinrepair.org/

Moreover, many of us wonder if the NMSS is all that it's cracked up to be. In 2010, Joyce Nelson, the former CEO of the NMSS, had an income of $468,000. Not bad for a charity!

I have no money to my name, bills piling up, no living situation, I need to pay the active musicians in the concert, I have no way to pay for my medications right now, I am in dire straits living with my mom, I can't get a job, and I could really use the money to get a vehicle for transportation.
