I have been assisting my family member with getting to the Dr appts. She has recently been falling and has many symptoms of MS. The neuro was unhappy that she has been to his office 3 times in 7 weeks, and he said she had a psychogenic disorder. He has only done one MRI of her thoracic spine. That is the only test he has run. Several months ago she had a CT of her head so he was not interested in doing an MRI. I am very upset as I know the demylination does not show on CT. Any thoughts on that? We are trying to see if her insurance carrier will allow her to see another neuro. thanks.

Check out the diet section on the web site. Diet is the only chance we have in helping those with MS or any other disease. These doctors do not have a magic pill. Other things mimic the symptoms of MS. Lyme disease, mercury poisoning to name a few. Dr. Bergman explains what you can do to help your family member.

If your family member has MS, it is true that diet and supplements can do a lot to make his or her course easier than it would have been. There is research to support this.

About getting an MRI. If insurance won't support a second opinion, your family member could visit the emergency department the next time he or she falls or otherwise has a dramatic symptom. Another way to get around the psychogenic disorder is to accept the referral to a psychologist, and let the psychologist discover that this is in fact a physical problem.

Oh really?

So if I fracture a bone, what diet would you recommend?

If I develop a skin abscess, should I have it drained or increase my broccoli intake?

If I get promyelocytic leukemia, an extremely aggressive and historically universally fatal cancer which now has very high cure rates with chemotherapy, should I flip off my oncologist and visit a dietician?

If I get a pneumonia, forget the antibiotics. There is no magic pill.

Albuterol for asthma? Rubbish?

vaccination for polio?

It sounds like you need a second opinion. By the way, would you care to give a little bit more detail about your family member's symptoms?
