Does anyone else have itching as a symptom? I had it for a short time last summer and now for the last two months, not just in my extremities but every where. I am currently taking Lyrica, Baclofen and Amitriptiline. I have phased out Neurontin and I am working on lowering my Lyrica dose. I was at 75mg twice a day, now 25mg twice a day. Not looking for free medical advice, so any help woud be appreciated.

ugh i had itching everywhere that i could still feel. luckily that was not much of my body at the time!! mine was related to high vitamin intake though. too much folic acid, i think it was, in my b-complex. my levels went to over 1200. i backed off on the complex and started taking the other b's individually and it went away.

Please note that in bromley's General Discussion post on Restless Leg Syndrome "itching" is listed as a possible symptom. Also, "people with diabetes were at particular risk."

Could this all fall under "peripheral neuropathy?" Diabetics have problems with this, I know. OK...here it comes...could excess insulin be the culprit in all this?

just to correct that old post, my folate levels went up to 2170 not 1200. i don't think a 1200 level would cause itching but ending up over 2000 certainly did.

I had a phase of being quite itchy but it wasnt really extreme, just noticible, but that's because my skin hurt so much that scratching was excrutiating.

I itch all over. Mostly my head and back. Everyday. It is frustrating and embarasing. I don't take anything for it but I will tell my neuro when I go next month. I did not want to start anything new since I an new to Rebif and wanted to give it a chance to get in my system.

catfreak i know you posted a long time ago but were you taking b-complex? do you now? do you still itch? if applicable, is/was your b-complex high in folic acid compared to the rest of the blend?

Hi Terry
yes I have the itch. I call it the "Roving Itch" becuase it moves randomly anywhere on my left side of my body. It happens during mini-flares or when I'm very tired. Or just when it feels like it.
It's very annoying. It does fall under the neurological pain spectrum so maybe you need a bit more amitriptyline to mask it? I know it decreased now that I'm no amitriptyline, but it does break through and annoy me frequently. But I suppose I weigh up the sedation of amitrip, vs. level of annoyance of itch.

Itching.....I itch during a flare up or when I'm tired. My head and legs are the worst. I don't take anything for it except a cool shower when it's intolerable. I don't know why this would help, maybe the nerves are rerouting something when the cool water strikes.
