newmser, please keep your contributions civil. thank you. please feel free to post conflicting research if you have found studies that demonstrate no influence of nutritional status on resistance to hiv-aids.

Some think the SALK vaccines effectiveness is a big lie. Unfortunately since I didn't have the information and my parents were scared by the medical authorities I received the vaccine in my school when I was a child. If I was offered the vaccine today I would say no. Better to take the chance of getting the disease than injecting neurotoxins and monkey virus in my body. Just what do you think is giving us all these sick people with neurological problems today. Could it be the results of all the neurotoxins we have been exposed to? Do you think all the parents with sick children are lying to us?

I was diagnosed within weeks of receiving a travel vaccine and I certainly spent some time investigating that potential link. the neuro said it was coincidental that my shot was just before my first episode. even with everything I've read about vaccines since, I tend to agree that there were too many obvious contributing factors at play to place any specific blame on the vaccine.

but, to get things back on track - how did your Friday appt go, woody?

Well I went to the Primary and he said right off it was Vertigo, not MS, but he's also not a an MS Dr so how he would know right off is beyond me. If it is vertigo that's great. It still comes and goes, So I guess I am going to make an appt. with the Neurologist for my MRI and Spinal Tap. Someone asked about my excercise and eating habits, well they both are not good at all. I was thinking of trying out this weight loss pill or drink form that a friend does. It's called, Skinny Fiber, anyone hear of it? I do need to lose a few pounds, thats for sure!! I don't take vitamins, I did go in and get a B-12 shot though, no thats gonna help but.... I need to look up vertigo and see exactly what that is and does.

hi, I asked about diet and exercise :)

can you give a rough idea of the kinds of food and drink you consume on a daily basis?

I suspect some basic changes might do more good than a weight loss pill product.

given that your diet has been poor, you could consider researching nutritional contributors to vertigo (eg vitamin d3 - very common)

you could possibly ask for a few blood tests, eg serum 25(OH)vitaminD3

Vitamin D deficiency and benign paroxysmal positioning vertigo
http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/ar ... 7712005105
"... in a small retrospective pilot study, 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels in serum of patients with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo and frequency of recurrence after correction of serum level were assessed retrospectively. ... Vertigo attacks did not recur after supplementation with vitamin D."

they can also have low ferritin, magnesium, copper and zinc - but in this next study only plasma iron is significantly lower compared to controls (this is an odd study because everyone's levels of copper mag and zinc look bad to me, and I am not sure why they used plasma iron and not serum ferritin...).

"Evaluation of oxidative status and trace elements in patients with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo" (ugh just search google for that one. the link is ridiculous but there is a pdf link to full text)

couldn't hurt to ask for tests of serum ferritin too. and serum magnesium, zinc and copper if you feel ambitious :D
