I got that email too. Not impressed. I really don't enjoy unsolicited email.

I get enough political news and views elsewhere. I think it is inappropriate to have anything political that doesn't directly affect MS on the website (other than posts in the forums). If the Webmaster was expressing his/her personal, political thoughts, and will continue, I will find another MS site to visit.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions here, anyone who is a member can post a message to the rest of the site - if you go in to your account you will see what I mean. Maybe it is a Turkish member? Maybe it is someone who has logged in with the purpose of adding this message and are doing so on other sites.

I don't think the people running this site are likely to have done this so give them a break until you find out for sure.

Felly is exactly correct, and if the mysql data base has been compromised, I am sure the admin will correct the situation as soon as they are aware of it..

There are some serious situations going on online at this time concerning exploits :

http://www.cnn.com/TECH/

As the Microsoft Internet Explorer is being exploited it is wise to use another browser till the patch is in place, it is always wise to have another browser on your win based systems such as Opera or Mozilla or any browser that is not IE interlaced..

This will give you a browser to use in case your Internet Explorer is disabled by an exploit or virus, and at this time, be careful just cruising the web as many trusted sites could cause a problem..

How sad. Some people think it is fun to hack a non-profit site. We apologize for the inconvenience and assure you this has nothing to do with us. We are working to correct the problem. So sad :(

As most of you realized, we were hacked yesterday. I sent out an e-mail to the group at large explaining the situation.

Thank you very much for your patience and understanding. Rest assured you will NEVER recieve junk e-mail from us. If you get something of suspicious nature, please alert us immediately as I can assure you it is not authentic.

by the way, to give you an idea of just how often we have sent e-mails out to the entire group: last night's email was the FIRST after being in operation for the better part of a year. In other words, we do not and will not SPAM you, so stay vigilant for any irrelevant or inflammatory e-mails that LOOK LIKE they come from us-- they most assuredly do not.

Thanks for hopping on it, Arron. I don't know squat about computer hacking, but I bet it was some sort of automated operation.

Thanks, Aaron, for being on top of the situation.
