Explain what you mean by numbness.

Hi all,
I'm trying to get a better understanding of the symptoms that I'm currently having and I've been doing extensive research on MS and other demyelinating diseases as I wasn't sold on my Dr's 'It's probably MS' diagnosis and will be getting a second opinion in due course.
For those of you who experience numbness / tingling, how often does the numbness occur? Does it last all day? Does it sporadically come on and then go?
For me. I could be doing anything from sitting, lying down, walking, running or even sleeping. Irrespective of the activity, the right side of my body develops a tingle (the alarm that an episode is about to come on) and for the following 15 or so seconds, I lose most of the feeling in my right arm, hand, leg and foot. It feels more like paralysis (to a degree. I've had several episodes of sleep paralysis in the past and it's quite similar; however, I do have a little amount of control with these episodes). Whilst having an 'episode', I notice that I need to take deeper breaths too. Once it's over, my body is fully functional 'til the next episode.
Yesterday, I kept a log of them and had 55 episodes throughout the day. So approximately 3-4 an hour. About a week ago, I had three courses of Methylprednisolone that hasn't helped at all. I spoke to my MS nurse yesterday and asked if she had dealt with any other patients who had experienced symptoms such as mine. She paused and then gave me the 'MS effects everyone differently' which I completely understand; however, she couldn't confirm that she'd seen these symptoms before with any of her patients and I'm struggling to find any resources where MS patients have had similar symptoms.
So I ask the lovely people of 'ThisIsMs', what does your numbness feel like? What are the exact symptoms?
Thanks in advance.
Giancarlo.
