Do any of you have head pain? I can't call it a headache, as I think they 'pound'. This is a pain that hits fast and hard and covers my entire head. Some times it only lasts a few minutes and other times I take something for it. It tends to hits at night or quickly after waking up.

This happens to me sometimes, the pain is extreme but very short-lived (lasts only a few seconds), but painful enough to make me cry out or fall down. I can't imagine living with this pain if it were to last longer.

I also get cluster headaches that come in groups over a few days, these are located behind my left eye and usually start at night. These sometimes turn into migraines that I treat with Maxalt MLT. I take about 600mg verapamil daily to reduce the cluster headache episodes. When I get the severe head pain, I wonder if they are related to the cluster headaches, but I don't know.

I'm sorry this happens to you, I'd bring it up with a neurologist or headache specialist.

This is a good write-up on headaches and multiple sclerosis:

I didn't know that cluster headaches tend to be associated with lesions in the area of the brain where the trigeminal nerve originates, this is the nerve associated with tic doloureaux.

Thank you, I appreciate it. I also have Stiff Person Syndrom and I asked my dr about the cause of this pain. He said it was more likely the SPS. As it effects all parts of the body with muscle spasms.
