Hi Everyone, Thanks for reading. Im looking for some info on power wheelchairs. Im going to start looking into getting one and Im not really even sure what to look for or what type. I also only have medicare and medicaid and Im not even sure it would be covered.
I have MS and its getting difficult to walk. Having a light weight one that I might beable to take with me in my daughters car would be terrific. Im not sure either where to start or who to contact.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks & God bless, Dee

These folk are, unfortunately for you, a UK business but they might have some US contacts. http://www.fairprice-mobility-scooters. ... crets.html

I recently rented, wanted to try it before I bought it, a Pride Go-Go Scooter. It's what they call "transportable". That is, it seperates into 5 pieces that fit into the trunk of a car.

The Ultra model will go 10 miles per charge while the newer Elite goes 15 miles per charge with the optional larger battery.

After using it a few weeks I found it's GREAT. Definitely will buy one and would recommend it to someone looking for a model that can be easilly disassembled and loaded into a car.

Basic info and retailers can be found on their website.

Dee,

Choosing a power wheel-chair is a major undertaking and most users know little if anything about them on their first purchase. I would strongly recommend that you contact an Occupational Therapist who can come in and assess your needs and assist you greatly in purchasing this chair. Although an assessment fee has to be paid by you, it is well worth the investment. Good luck.
