Dear all,

The UK MS Society produces a booklet called Research Matters. The latest edition is attached. It covers the different modifying drugs, work looking at re-myelination etc. It's worth a read.

What a wealth of information! I downloaded the file so I can read it at my leisure.

Ian, you must post this again when anyone remarks that no research is being done and that researchers are only looking for treatments and not cures.

GWA,

Thanks. I think it's very well written and a good summary of what is going on in research (at least in the UK) in all sorts of areas. I also get the impression that other work is going on behind the scenes. Although a small country, we have some top class institutions such as the Institute of Neurology and Cambridge University. And they seem to be collaborating on many projects.

I will post the next edition when it becomes available.

There is a tremendous amount of research going on world wide. I am hopeful that something beneficial to those of us with SPMS and PPMS will be available in the not too distant future.

I agree with gwa. It makes me very hopeful to read about all the research being done. Great booklet and encouraging information. I know in my heart that they will soon be successful in finding remylinating and neuroprotective agents and better treatments for all types of MS. After that, on to the cure!
