Question about autoject

I will be given a choice of autoject or manual. Does anyone have an opinion on which they feel is better? ie; more/less bruising, more comfortable to use, ease/convenience of use etc. I tried a search for autoject on this site but not too much came up. Any input is appreciated.

Thanks,

OneEyeBlind,
Go with the autoject. It's a lot easier. Don't have to pinch you skin. It's all one handed operation.
Good luck with it.

Don't know which drug you are injecting. I am on Rebit. Used the auto-injector (version II) for about 2 weeks and never agaion since.

The important issue is whether or not you have someone who can do the injecting for you. If so, I suggest you opt for manual injection. I find it much less brutal.

Good luck.

OEB,

I've been medicating for 5 months now, I'm on Betaseron and personally like the Auto-ject they set me up with. It's easy to do any spot alone and I haven't had any bruising or anything. No problems

1 vote for auto-ject here.

I've been using the Rebif autoject for 4 months. Only my first injection was manual, and this was difficult because the actual injection of fluid was very painful for me. With the autoject I still feel pain but it is short lived and I don't need to convince myself to keep plunging through the pain. I also have many more places I can reach with the one handed action.

I have read claims about bruising/discomfort being both worse and better with the autoject. Try it and see which you prefer.

Thank you everyone for responding! They gave me the autoject for copaxone. I can use the autoject OR I can do it manually. I gave myself my first injection this morning. It went just fine! It was a little red and welted for a short time and there was a slight burning but now it feels fine.

I really appreciate the help and support from everyone at this site.

Thanks again,
