heyas, turns out that zinc elevates not only glutathione, but uric acid -
another great antioxidant that is low in MS cases.

since dx in early '06 my UA was at or below the ms average of 194.
end of '07 i asked for a zinc test, found the deficiency (8.6umol/L).
in early '08, corrected it (went a little too high for a bit).
on follow-up had not known to request a UA at the same time.
since then i started to understand the zinc - UA connection better.
this time i did intentionally order both tests at once.
i don't have the zinc results yet but my UA has bumped up to 255 since i started working to improve the zinc status - good news!

i bumped this because i found more pics for the 'world without zinc' bit on page 1. funny!!!

i still have never had my glutathione levels checked, but to update that last post - when my uric acid was 255, when the zinc result came through it was only 11.6! as of june testing, things are up yet again - zinc to 16.1 (aiming for 18.2) and uric acid to 278 (aiming for 290-300).

i imagine this is likely to mean good things when it comes to glutathione :)
