Harry Z's wife is on this and he posts about it occasionally. I don't know if there are others that have tried it.

It is not cheap as I remember.

I have tried Prokarin, and it didnt do much for me personally. However, other swear by it. I think I read somewhere once that it has a tendency to help those that are heat sensitive, more.

It is pretty expensive, but if it works for you, its pretty cheap.

You can read more at links off this web site: http://www.healthwatcher.net/Quackerywatch/MS/ Even though its a "Quakery watch" web site, it has some good links to both sides of the argument.

Hi Brock,

As Gwa stated, my wife has been on Prokarin for almost 7 years now. It has reduced several of her MS symptoms and I'd hate to think where she would be today if she wasn't using this drug. It's too bad that Prokarin wasn't around some 5 years before she started it in June of 2000. By that time Marg had been diagnosed with MS for almost 30 years and we know she had suffered axonal damage. After she started on the Prokarin, her walking started to improve as well but she took a nasty fall in March of 2001, broke her leg badly and that did more damage to her than the 30 previous years of MS.

Prokarin isn't for everyone. The last numbers I saw showed about 1/3 of the users had several symptoms reduced or eliminated, 1/3 had one or two symptoms helped and 1/3 got no benefit whatsoever. I'm not sure that I would agree that the drug is expensive. A month's supply cost about $ 195.00. In many instances, the first month is offered free of charge depending on the approved pharmacy from where you purchased it. You know in this first month if the drug is going to have any effect on you. It is painless to apply (a trans dermal patch) and there is virtually no side effects at all. Of course, it must be prescribed by a doctor and that's where some people have a problem....some docs won't think outside the box and refuse to rx the drug. Marg's neuro wouldn't at first until he saw how she benefited from the Prokarin. He then changed his mind although he isn't a firm believer in it.

As for the National MS Society's treatment of Elaine Delack and Prokarin....I won't get into that now. "Disgusting" is probably the best word to use how they have dealt with this drug. You wouldn't believe some of the stories!!
