Dear all,

Following Arron's decision to quit as moderator on the site, I have taken an arm's length approach to moderating. Unfortunately, I have received quite a bit of feedback from users of the site about the number of posts by Bob (Lyon). I have looked into this matter and there does seem to be an issue about both the quantity and quality of his posts. I have asked our IT guys to help and from now on Lyon will be restricted to 10 posts a week. This is not to stiffle the right to express views, but to give others an opportunity to post. I hope everyone is happy with this decision. My decision to limit the posts of Robbie and HarryZ seems to have worked well and, I believe, the site has benfitted. Since I restricted HarryZ from posting the number of users has increased by almost 750!

As senior moderator, I would like to take the opportunity to thank Dignan for all his efforts. Good quality posts about treatments in the pipeline are what we like to see, and I think we would all agree that he has delivered this consistenly (perhaps a lesson for Bob and Robbie).

To help Bob out in this cold turkey period, I came across the following recent research telecon with Dr Mark Fredman, a highly respected Canadian MS reseacher. Part 1 is about Dr Freedman's Bone Marrow Transplantation project and Part 2 about treatments in the pipeline. Dr Freedman talks about three oral treatments which could be available by 2009 (not that far away). Interestingly, FTY720 may help promote repair and might also be trialled in progressive MS.

Dear, dear misguided Ian,

Since acquiring a life you've been around so little recently that you've missed out on much of the recent thisisms happenings.

Because the US Federal Trade Commission won't allow me to invest further in the crabs (something about a monopoly) I had to find other ways to invest my money and decided to buy thisisms.

It's not been publicly announced yet but my webguys are working on a few little changes to what will be relabeled as the "thisisbob" site.

I'm afraid that I will no longer be needing the services of moderators because anyone not worshipping or even disagreeing with bob will be banned for life and any new registrants will have to first swallow a bottle of parasite eggs.

Because of his overpowering interest in mystical music and nehru jackets (I thought he would have outgrown that when George Harrison did) I've had to let Arron go, although his severance package continues his $250,000/year salary, mercedes and California beachfront condo for the next five years.

With that in mind I concede that I am now down to 8 posts for the week.

As it happens I have a LONG but very interesting 8 part series prepared to post which details the mating habits of the parasites of the arctic fulmer and through the butterfly effect, their impact on the world economy, with special emphasis placed on the financial situation of Outer Mongolian fur traders.
